Spring Reading Thing 2010

I’ve looked forward to spring since about two years ago, not because I feel it here in the Philippines (we only have two seasons, really: summer and rainy. And maybe the occasional cool breeze during the Christmas season) but because I get to join the Spring Reading Thing — a low-pressure reading challenge hosted by Katrina of Callapider Days.

I’m adding book titles from every blog I visit because I keep seeing books that, if time, I will add to my current reading list for the challenge. I saw the title ‘American Wife’ in your list and took a brief view through the reviews. I am going to see if I can get that one and Watermelon also looks like it may be interesting.

  Read the first few pages of American Wife in a bookstore, made me laugh. It’s very promising. I also have a contact who thinks this is the best book of Curtis Sittenfeld. Excited to read it. Let me know how you like it when you get the chance to get a copy. 🙂

I loved Swapping Lives. I’ve always seen Marian Keyes around but never picked one up. I hope to hear how it was.

  Misty, one of my favorite chick lit novels is Marian Keyes’s Sushi for Beginners. I heard her collection of essays (I think it’s called Under the Duvet) is good, too. Excited to read Swapping Lives.

I enjoyed Walking with God last fall. And I’ve read the “Men are like Waffles”, but not the single version—I’m sure it’s equally as good. Would love to read the Malcolm Gladwell book. And I have Guernsey packed in my suitcase for a little trip I’m about to take! Have fun reading this spring.

Guernsey is next on my list if I get my 4 finished. You have some interesting picks. I’ve wanted to read a Malcolm Gladwell and the Stearns looks good too!
